Luck was not on our side in the final against Skendija
Rabotnicki played a good game, but couldn’t get a victory in the final of the Macedonian Cup against Skendija, a match our team lost 0-2 (0-1). Both teams had their chances, but our players didn’t manage to score at least one goal, with missed chances proved costly as Rabotnicki’s streak of two cup-titles in a row came to an end.
Skendija took the lead after just seven minutes, Ibraimi’s shot was parried by the excellent goalkeeper Siskovski, but the ball came to Radeski, who had easy task to place it in the net. Rabotnicki took control of the midfield and started creating chances, but Galic shot terribly wide from great position, while Elif Elmaz was stopped just as he was preparing to shoot in the 38. minute.
Siskovski has a lot of work at the beginning of the second half, as our goalkeeper saved tho great chances after shots from Zunior and Radeski. Rabotnicki put Skendija under a lot of pressure in the final 20 minutes, when Altiparmakovski missed a great opportunity. In the 87. minute Jovanovski had a blunder after a shot from Najdenov, but Altiparmakovski couldn’t get first to the ball. Two minutes later we had the last chance when Kire Markoski’s header finished only in the post.
The punishment for the missed chances came in the 5-th minute of the added time when Zunior was left “one on one” with Siskovski, and the Brazilian made no mistake, scoring the second goal and securing the trophy for Skendija.
