Unlucky loss with penalty goal and elimination from the Europa League
Rabotnicki suffered elimination in the first qualifying round for the Europa league, after losing 1-0 in the second leg against Buducnost in Podgorica. The team from Montenegro will go in the second round, playing against Genk, while our team will be sorry for the missed chances at the first match in Skopje.
Rabotnicki had the first good play at the match when Herera made a good run from the left side, but couldn’t find any of his teammates in the opponent’s box. Buducnost had a good chance in the 6. minute when Pejakovic went clear “one on one” against Siskovski, but our goalkeeper saved his shot. Siskovski was unable to prevent the hosts to take the lead ten minutes later when Radunovic scored from the spot. Even bigger problem for Rabotnicki was the red card received by Najdovski for the foul that led to the penalty.
Even though we had one player less on the field, our team played better in the remaining part of the match, trying to get an equalizer. Mitrev couldn’t hit the target with the header in the first half, while in the second part of the match and Sahiti shots were off target.
