Rabotnicki had the chances, but Vardar took the victory
Rabotnicki suffered the second defeat of the season, losing 1-0 in the local derby against the reigning champion Vardar. Our team played a good match, dictated the tempo of the game, but the hosts scored from one of the few chances they created to take all three points from this derby match.
Rabotnicki had a good start of the match, with Elmas and Markoski shooting towards the opponent’s goal. After this Vardar started to control the midfield area, and took the lead with the first chance in the 28. minute. Boareto had a shot towards goal, Siskovski saved, the ball also hit the post, but Nikolov was there to put the rebound in the net. Filip Ivanovski had a chance, but couldn’t hit on target, while on the other side Felipe tested Siskovski from free kick, bout our goalkeeper saved without too much trouble.
Our best chance to equalize came in the 52. minute when Kire Markoski had a good shot from ten meters, but Gacevski turned the ball outside the field for acorner. Siljanovski, Ivanovski, Najdenov and Herera all tried their luck in the last 20 minutes, but their efforts weren’t good enough, so Vardar took thei victory in this local derby.
